metals mining, exploration
and development company. It is the
sole owner and operator of
the Magellan lead mine in
Western Australia. At full
production, Magellan is
expected to be one of the
top five lead-producing
mines in the world,
accounting for approximately
2% of the world’s total
mined lead supply.

The Magellan
lead mine was
officially
opened and
achieved
commercial
production at
the end of the
third quarter of
2005, and is
currently under
care and
maintenance. The
Western
Australian
Environment
Minister
recently
announced that
Magellan has
successfully met
the conditions
imposed on the
company in order
to undertake
sealed shipments
of lead
carbonate
concentrate
through the Port
of Fremantle.
